The David Wheeler Memorial Foundation exists as a non-profit organization to further music education in the West Michigan community.

David was a violinist with the Grand Rapids Symphony Orchestra for 46 years, groundskeeper and irrigation technician with Cascade Hills Country Club for 31 years, and played tuba in the 81st U.S. Army Band from 1975-1979. Our mission is to spur on his legacy through The Foundation.

100% of funds raised will be donated to provide music scholarships to Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp. We invite you to join us on our journey of honoring David by sharing our mission and donating to our cause!

Remembering David Wheeler

I knew Dave from cascade hills. A true legend and leader. Kept in contact with him after my days at cascade. He played violin in our wedding and my mom’s funeral. My mom always loved watching him play in the symphony and he always took time after the show to talk to her.

Jeff Starke

Dave was a great pal growing up with him and his family. I'm watching the Little League World Series and it brings back great memories. Dave was the Rock behind our team.

Robert Sperber

Dave was one of my usual stand partners in the orchestra. He was a very kind man and I thought of him like a second dad. He was always first to arrive at the hall for rehearsal and he would tell me stories about you and his grandkids (as well as try to explain to me about all kinds of military planes). He loved you all so much. I will miss him terribly.
